You sit down at your desk. You open your laptop. And you look at your emails and Slack messages.

And your heart sinks.

Your inbox and DMs are filled with questions you don’t want to answer and requests you don’t want to fulfill.

Having a traditional job is nice and all. You get a paycheck every couple of weeks. You get a bonus each quarter. And maybe you get some stock options or equity that could pay off big down the road.

But you also have to open that laptop each morning and welcome a series of obligations into your life — obligations that you want no part of.

I’ve been there.

In fact, the worst job I’ve ever had inspired me to go to Barnes & Noble to pick up a book called The Well-Fed Writer. That book led me into a freelance adventure that transformed my work, my finances and my life.

You can join the masses who are leaving their day jobs for the flexibility, freedom and financial success that’s waiting in the freelance and consulting worlds.

And I’m here to help.

I still don’t have everything figured out. But I’ve made plenty of mistakes and learned many lessons since I started freelancing in 2014. And I share about those mistakes and lessons learned each week in the Break Free Fridays newsletter.

If you open your laptop each morning and dread the work ahead, there’s a better, bigger life waiting for you somewhere else.
